The Graston Technique® is an advanced form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, which incorporates the use of six patented stainless steel instruments. GT enables clinicians to effectively treat the adverse effects of scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The purpose of this basic training is to introduce clinicians to GT, its clinical applications, physiological effects/benefits and potential contraindications. The primary objective of Module 1 is to develop an understanding of GT and how to apply it into the full spectrum of musculoskeletal treatment approaches. After completion, student can Demonstrate a working knowledge of the GT instruments, GT treatments, potential effects and benefits. Identify and discuss the indications, contraindications (relative and absolute) of the Graston Technique®. Review and develop a better understanding of soft tissue injury, healing and potential reactivity to instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (therapeutic and adverse). Develop skill and competence in the GT application of IASTM to the major regions of the spine and extremities.
- Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehabilitation, NYCC
FAKTR (pronounced FACTOR) is a concept, that stands for Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab. Its focus is expertly treating soft tissue/fascial disorders through the use of instruments. The concept includes assessing function and treating the kinetic chain while utilizing various forms of rehabilitation at the same time. It incorporats treatment in the position of provocation (pain, loss of range of motion, feeling of tightness within the fascia/soft tissues) and during motion. FAKTR incorporates all of the above variations to evaluate and treat soft tissue/fascial conditions. evaluation and treatment of upper and lower extremity conditions as well as those affecting the spine. Students are also taught how to tape using Spider Tech Kinesiology Tape for each body part. Additionally, nerve flossing in the upper extremity is discussed.
- Sports Injuries: The Team Approach, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine - Department of Orthopaedics
The goal of this program is to provide participants with a multidisciplinary approach to common sports injuries. Emphasis will be placed on history, physical exam, diagnosis and treatment. Workshops will be offered in joint/spine exam, injection techniques, splinting methods and x-ray/imaging interpretation.

This two (2) hour presentation provides an evidence-based approach to assessment of neck and shoulder complaints. Differential diagnoses and management of common conditions seen in a chiropractic practice will be discussed.

A discussion on the ability to diagnose and offer a conservative approach to internal disorders. Specific attention to the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disorders, infection and leukemia.
