Using the US Chiropractic Directory to Build Your Practice?

I was at a dinner last night for the Jewish holiday and a friend, an orthodontist, shared with me that the Internet is his #1 avenue for new patients. He has worked every day for years on ensuring that his Web site is seen by his patients and his community via e-mails, fliers and he adds information to his site regularly to stay relevant to the search engines. He also spends $1000’s every year to maintain the process. He now gets 8-9 new patients every week in his practice solely from the Internet. What he has done is create a "buzz," both within his practice and his community.

Part of the equation for success in getting the US Chiropractic Directory to work in getting you new patients is using it as an educational tool for your patients. This is the only place in the world where your patients can get REAL "peer reviewed" research about the conditions you treat and the care you give, in simple language. The research places chiropractic in the highest regard because the research results PROVE chiropractic is the treatment of choice based upon outcome studies.

This is the type of information that will bring chiropractic to caring for 95% of the population and it will only happen if you take this information and more like it and share it at the highest level. Third party scientific validation is what the medical, legal, regulatory and referral communities have been asking for over the last two decades and it is now here. They are waiting for it and you HAVE to put it in their hands. This is also the type of information that local newspapers search for to place in their publications based on its "news-worthyness" and can also be sent as a press release with you as part of the story.

Doctors from coast-to-coast have been reporting that patients are sharing the Web links with their friends and family and are creating a "buzz" within their community about chiropractic and them, no different than my friend, the orthodontist. The cost, ZERO-$0-ZILCH-NADA to get your community involved in chiropractic and you. The doctors who have preferred listings are reporting much more traffic from the site and subsequent new patients.

The orthodontist also shared with me last night that he has been doing this consistently for over 2 years. There is no such thing as a "get rich quick" program. It takes time, persistence and consistency. In fact, today I spoke to an office that I personally consulted with 6 months ago and the doctor told me that the system wasn’t working. After I hung up, perplexed, I called back and got his front desk CA on the phone who informed me that the patients really liked it, however, the doctor stopped having them hand anything out after the first few days and have done nothing since. Through the CA, I got that office back on track.

The lesson is from the orthodontist; if you put in the time and effort, you will be rewarded in your personal practice and chiropractic globally will win. It has to start locally and through mass media. Use it.

The US Chiropractic Directory should work better than your own personal Web site. With so many sites and information inundating the public, you need a site that has third party validation (preferred listings), offers your credentials (to show you are the best through real academic and educational citations), gives your office information and gets you ranked higher on the search engines.
